Each year the Cardinal invites catechumens and candidates from the Archdiocese to come together in the Cathedral of the Holy Cross for the annual Rite of Election and Call to Continuing Conversion on the First Sunday of Lent. This year we had planned to celebrate these liturgies at other parishes because the Cathedral had planned to start a major restoration project that would have closed the church for construction beginning in January.
