Each year the Cardinal invites catechumens and candidates from the Archdiocese to come together in the Cathedral of the Holy Cross for the annual Rite of Election and Call to Continuing Conversion on the First Sunday of Lent.  This year we had planned to celebrate these liturgies at other parishes because the Cathedral had planned to start a major restoration project that would have closed the church for construction beginning in January. 

WATERTOWN, MASS. (February 23, 2017) – On Sunday, February 26, the Eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time, Father Dan O’Connell will celebrate Mass at the CatholicTV Network’s Chapel of the Holy Cross. Father O’Connell is the pastor of Corpus Christi-Saint Bernard Parish in Newton. The Mass will be broadcast on Channel 56 at 8am ET and on CatholicTV at 7pm and 11:30pm.

WATERTOWN, MASS. – On Sunday, February 12, the Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time, Father Gerald Souza will celebrate Mass at the CatholicTV Network’s Chapel of the Holy Cross. The Mass will be broadcast on Channel 56 at 8am ET and on CatholicTV at 7pm and 11:30pm.

"Today, at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross, Cardinal O’Malley, joined by Governor Baker, Mayor Walsh, Boston Police Commissioner Evans and Greek Orthodox Metropolitan Methodios, met with leaders from the Muslim community of Greater Boston.  The meeting provided the opportunity for all present to come together in prayer, solidarity and support during these challenging times.  The discussion included recognition that Catholics and Muslims share a concern for the common good and together uphold our nation’s founding principles of religious liberty and acceptance.

  WATERTOWN, MASS. On Monday, February 6 at 9pm ET, CatholicTV will broadcast a special episode of The Lens focused on refugees.
