BOSTON, MA – Cardinal Seán P. O’Malley, Archbishop of Boston joined Mayor Thomas M. Menino, the Planning Office for Urban Affairs (POUA), Pine Street Inn, and a number of state and local officials to celebrate the grand opening of 18 apartments for formerly homeless individuals in Boston’s South End. 

Braintree, MA – Cardinal Seán P. O’Malley and the Catholic Schools Office for the Archdiocese of Boston announced the awarding of a $1.2 Million Gift from the Mosakowski Family Foundation to benefit Catholic schools in the Gloucester, Lynn, Lowell, and Peabody communities.

WELLESLEY- On Thursday evening the Archdiocese of Boston shut down the heating system in St. James the Great Church after the building’s property insurance company deemed the boiler unsafe.

Braintree, Mass. – October 12, 2011 – The Campaign for Catholic Schools announced today that it has been awarded a $1 million grant for Pope John Paul II Catholic Academy by the State Street Foundation, the grant making arm of State Street Corporation.  The grant, announced at the Dorchester Lower Mills Campus, will be used to benefit middle school programs and professional development at the Academy.  Headquartered in Boston, MA, State Street is one of the world’s leading providers of financial services to institutional investors.

I want to inform you of a change involving the leadership here at St. Theresa Parish. As you know, Fr. Eugene Tully has been pastor since 1992 and has enjoyed a more than 40 year ministry of exceptional service as a priest. We are very grateful for his outstanding work with St. Theresa serving the many needs of the parish community.

Blessed John Paul II biographer and noted author George Weigel to Speak Cardinal to celebrate Public Feast Mass honoring Blessed John Paul II Braintree, MA – Blessed John Paul II biographer and noted author George Weigel will address Serra Boston on October 22, 2011 at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross following a Mass that recognizes the important role prayer plays in honoring and supporting our priests.

Braintree, MA – On Friday, September 30, 2011, the Archdiocese of Boston completed a transaction that will transfer ownership of the Church properties from the closed parish of St. Jeremiah’s in Framingham, MA to the Syro Malabar Eparchy (Eparchy is the Eastern word for diocese). The properties include the Church, rectory, land and parking lot.
