The Archdiocese of Boston is the fourth largest archdiocese in the United States and is the spiritual home for more than 1.8 million Catholics. Until October 2024, Cardinal Seán P. O'Malley, OFM Cap., led the Archdiocese through unprecedented events with a focus on healing and rebuilding the local Church. In August 2024, His Holiness Pope Francis named Archbishop Richard Henning, S.T.D. as Cardinal O'Malley's successor. He was installed on October 31, 2024.
Centered in of one of the world’s great cities – Boston – and spread across 144 communities in eastern Massachusetts, the Archdiocese of Boston is an ethnically diverse and spiritually enriching faith community consisting of vibrant parishes, well-performing Catholic schools that are educating more than 46,000 students annually and a social service outreach that is helping to assist more than 200,000 individuals each year. Mass is celebrated in more than twenty different languages each week.
In addition to this, the sisters make vestments in their workshop at the Pastoral Center, care for the linens used in Bethany chapel, and run the gift shop at the Pastoral Center.
Additionally, the sisters have run a Liturgical Center on West Street in Boston since 1969. They also provide pastoral services for priests at Regina Cleri. The Sister Disciples of the Divine Master was founded for Eucharistic Adoration, priestly and Liturgical service. They pray for the needs of the Church and the Archdiocese and for vocations.
