Ministries and Programs Coordinator (FT), St. Thomas Aquinas, Bridgewater, MA
St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, a dynamic and active parish of 3,000 registered families in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, is looking for a Ministries and Programs Coordinator as part of our committed staff. We are looking for an individual with the passion and skills required to support and grow over 40 parish ministries and multiple programs. We have built a phenomenal Ministries and Volunteer Engagement Program. We are looking to evangelize and expand our parish and community outreach.
We seek someone who is committed, excited about his/her faith, and driven to share that faith with others. This full-time Position will work closely with the Pastor, Parochial Vicar and parish staff. Work is to be done in person at the parish office in Bridgewater.
PURPOSE: The purpose of the Ministries and Programs Coordinator position is to further advance our belief in and love for Jesus Christ and the parish’s mission of evangelization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with the Pastor, Parochial Vicar, and parish staff in the overall development and support of parish ministries and programs.
Develop strategies for outreach to the parish and local community.
Expand the parish’s social media presence.
Participate in the recruitment, training, and formation of volunteers.
Plan and execute spiritual and educational opportunities for parishioners, such as periodic Bible studies and parish missions.
Maintain a presence at parish gatherings, such as weekend liturgies and social functions
Contribute to the preparation of the Weekly Bulletin (as needed) and other print media.
Collaborate on the development and updating of the parish website and social media platforms.
Coordinate events, supplies, and chapel usage at St. Basil’s Chapel and Catholic Center.
TECHNICAL ABILTIES:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Canva
Experience with Audio/Video equipment and set-up for group presentations including, but not limited to, live streaming via YouTube, or willing to learn
Experience with social media platforms such as Facebook and YouTube, as well as website editing experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with a love of the Catholic faith and a desire to contribute to the mission of the Church.
Previous parish or pastoral ministry experience preferred.
Demonstrated leadership and collaborative skills
Flexibility and openness to meet people where they are in their understanding and expression of their faith.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong interest in developing and supporting service and outreach ministries.
Highly organized and able to multi-task
Willing to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends
PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE ELEMENTS:
Ability to use a computer keyboard for up to 8 hours/day
Ability to sit for up to 8 hours/day
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
