(Braintree, Mass.) August 30, 2009…The Archdiocese of Boston today announced that it has placed Rev. Frederick Barr on administrative leave as a result of receiving an allegation of sexual abuse of a minor. The allegation concerns conduct alleged to have taken place approximately twenty years ago. Fr. Barr is pastor of St. Patrick’s Church in Watertown.
Cardinal Sean P. O’Malley Ofm Cap. will preside in his role as Archbishop of Boston and will lead the final Prayers of Commendation. Rev. Donald Monan, S.J., Chancellor of Boston College, will be the principal celebrant of the Mass. Rev. Mark Hession, Pastor of Our Lady of Victories Parish in Centerville, Mass. will deliver the homily.
(Braintree, Massachusetts) August 28, 2009 – The Archdiocese of Boston today released a photo slideshow and other information about Our Lady of Perpetual Help Basilica, site of the funeral for Senator Edward M. Kennedy on Saturday August 29.

On Friday, August 14th, Major Jennifer Willis will be featured in a live interview on the CatholicTV talk show “This is the Day”. Major Willis is the leader of a 20-person unit of military broadcasters and print journalists who are covering the war and military life in Afghanistan. In March, Major Willis’ convoy was attacked by militants in the Konar Province of Afghanistan. Despite 2 hours of fighting, no one in the convoy was harmed.
Starting in October, CatholicTV will air a new movie review show starring two self-proclaimed “movie-buffs”- Fr. Chip Hines, and Fr. Bill Kelly. The idea of the show came about when a fellow priest overheard Fr. Chip and Fr. Bill debating about a movie and said, “you two should have your own show”.
