“Father Luke Odor is a chaplain at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Bedford, Massachusetts and his ministry is supervised through the Archdiocese for the Military. Fr. Odor had been residing in the rectory of St. Isidore’s, Stow. The Archdiocese for the Military has informed us that they have started an investigation into personal conduct matters involving Father Odor. The investigation does not involve any matters related to Saint Isidore’s Parish or the Archdiocese of Boston. As a result of this action Father Odor’s faculties have been suspended by the Archdiocese for the Military and in keeping with our policies, the Archdiocese of Boston has followed with similar action. As is Archdiocesan policy Father Odor is no longer allowed to reside in the rectory at St. Isidore and he is not allowed to function as a priest within the Archdiocese.
Braintree, MA (November 15, 2012) – Following an extensive and collaborative consultation process, Cardinal Seán O’Malley announced his formal acceptance of Disciples in Mission – A Pastoral Plan for the Archdiocese of Boston. The plan approved today is the result of nearly six years of work that was developed over the past two years by the Archdiocesan Pastoral Planning Commission (APPC). The APPC is a commission of 19 members appointed by the Cardinal and Co-Chaired by Msgr. William Fay and Deacon Chuck Clough. The APPC gathered input from priests, religious, deacons, staff and parishioners from across the Archdiocese which resulted in the plan announced today.

Cardinal Seán has authorized a special collection, to be taken the weekend of November 10-11 in all parishes in the Archdiocese of Boston, in support of the relief efforts to those areas devastated by the recent Hurricane Sandy, particularly in Haiti, Cuba and areas in the Northeast United States. All monies collected will be distributed from the Archdiocese of Boston to the church agencies involved in these relief efforts.
