Group to hold a press event on Tuesday, November 1st     2 p.m. Deliverance Temple Worship Center 232 Columbia Rd., Boston

WATERTOWN, MASS. (October 27, 2016) – On Sunday, October 30, Father Robert Casey, pastor of Saint Brigid of Kildare and Gate of Heaven Parishes, will celebrate Mass at the CatholicTV Network’s Chapel of the Holy Cross. The Mass will be broadcast on Channel 56 at 7:30am ET and on CatholicTV at 7pm.

The 2016 Bishop Healy Award will be presented to Dr. Martin J. Williams, Chief of Surgery at Carney Hospital and parishioner at St. Mary of the Angels Parish in Roxbury for his dedicated work and advocacy for quality healthcare for all, especially the poor and disenfranchised. He has provided kind and compassionate care for many people in the former Columbia Point Housing Project, Health Centers and the Bridge Over Troubled Waters Van, which provided free health care throughout greater Boston.

The Roman Catholic Bishops of Massachusetts have released a statement in opposition to Question 4 on the legalization of recreational marijuana, a question that will appear on the Massachusetts ballot Nov. 8. “Marijuana represents a significant part of substance use in America and adversely affects the health of millions of Americans. According to a recent report issued by the National Institute of Drug Abuse, Marijuana is the most commonly used illicit drug in the United States. ”
