SUMMARY: This position provides construction and maintenance consulting services as well as project management services to Pastors, Principals, Business Managers, Finance Councils and others on all Archdiocesan and related entity properties. The Project Manager will have the responsibility of the planning, procurement and execution of any project.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage contractors, architects, engineers and construction associates, from concept to completion of new construction, renovation and maintenance efforts.
Prepare or assist in the preparation of contract documents for bidding.
Oversee and supervise small construction and renovation efforts for parish and other RCAB facilities.
Provide project administration for each effort including budget development and oversight, written documents, change order recommendation and changes in construction or renovation plans.
Develop short-range and long-range planning for maintenance and capital improvements.
Provide day-to-day assistance at the parish and school level to address problems that develop such as failed roofing and masonry, hazardous material, boiler plant failure, etc.
Provide on-site detailed evaluations on the condition of the buildings and associated systems.
Develop in-house performance or detailed plan and specifications when situation demands such.
Assist in the development of policy and procedures to accommodate changing time, needs and conditions.
Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management or related field. 8+ years of experience in building maintenance and construction industry.
Operating knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets and email.
Strong skills in Microsoft Office.
Ability to communicate effectively through email and/or telephone.
Excellent oral and written skills.
Driver’s license and vehicle for travel to local parishes and RCAB properties.
Willingness to support the mission of the Catholic Church.
PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE ELEMENTS:
Ability to use a computer for up to 8 hours/day.
Ability to sit for up to 8 hours/day.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, climb stairs, and squat.
