SUMMARY:
We are hiring a Children’s Ministry Coordinator to provide leadership and vision while recruiting, leading, and empowering volunteer ministers serving in our children’s worship experiences (Tiny Disciples and Kids’ Church).

The Children’s Ministry Coordinator is responsible for creating, supporting, and growing vibrant programming to support children within the church by developing engaged leaders who help children discover a relationship with Jesus and grow as disciples. The coordinator, utilizing a collaborative style, will recruit, equip, and empower teams of volunteers to carry out a vision and develop programs that provide a firm foundation for the growth of children and families. This job is on-site at the parish office in Belmont.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Build, support, and grow the Children’s Ministry Team, which consists of committed and gifted volunteers.
2. Recruit, train, lead, and develop volunteers for Children’s Ministry.
3. Collaborate with New Roads staff and volunteer ministers to develop and promote a clear vision and strategy for discipleship within children’s worship experiences, aligned with the overall mission and vision of New Roads Catholic Community.
4. Oversee and grow our two existing children’s worship programs on Sundays: Kids’ Church for grades K-5 (elementary) and Tiny Disciples for ages 2-5 (pre-school).
5. Create content and program plans using pre-existing curriculum and ideas from Rebuilt, Orange Curriculum, etc.
6. Design and implement a marketing strategy, highlighting children’s worship programs with an emphasis on growing New Roads children’s worship at all New Roads worship experiences.
7. Create a safe, positive, nurturing, and age-appropriate learning environment for every child, planning for safety in light of current policies and emerging concerns.
8. Be present for children’s worship every Sunday to support volunteers, assess needs, and build relationships with volunteers and families.
9. Participate as an active member of the New Roads team; attend team meetings and contribute to team projects; perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Enthusiasm for the mission and vision of New Roads
• Ability to build teams and motivate people
• Professionalism when dealing with volunteer ministers and parents
• A love for children, families, and volunteer ministers serving children
• Bachelor’s degree or associate degree from an accredited college or university (or equivalent experience)
• At least one year experience working with children and families
• Comfortable with public speaking
• Comfortable with technology (Google Apps, Kids check-in systems, etc.)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Commitment to growth in your own relationship with Jesus Christ
• Willingness to support the mission of the Catholic Church

DETAILS:

• Reports To: Creative Director
• Schedule:
  • Part-time (15–20 hours/week) or full-time for the right candidate
  • Required on-site Sundays: 8:00am–12:00pm
  • Weekday schedule: flexible, coordinated with supervisor; some remote work possible
• Required availability: Holy Week, Easter, and Christmas Eve
• Occasional evenings or Saturdays for special events or meetings
