Bookkeeper (FT), St. Albert the Great, St. Francis Xavier Collaborative, Weymouth, MA
Saint Albert the Great and Saint Francis Xavier Collaborative in Weymouth is currently looking for a full-time Bookkeeper to join their team. The purpose of the bookkeeper position is to ensure that payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash reconciliation are handled according to Archdiocesan policies, procedures and practices in a timely manner. This is a 35-hour a week position and you will need to work at the parish office in Weymouth. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process payroll in accordance with parish and Archdiocesan guidelines.
Manage bookkeeping functions, payables, receivables and account reconciliations for the churches, school, and cemetery.
Oversee the count and record offertory, donations and other cash receipts as they occur.
Manage the budget of the churches, cemetery and school showing actual tuition costs compared to the budget.
Record sick and vacation time.
Report regularly to the Pastor and the Principal on all operating budget information.
Work with and provide information to the school advisory board as requested.
Assist the pastor, parish councils and school advisory board members to help explain actual versus budget variances as requested.
Other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in business/accounting required.
Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated related experience.
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft applications; knowledge of Intact a plus.
Proficiency in MS Excel.
PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE ELEMENTS:
Ability to use a computer keyboard for up to 8 hours/day.
Ability to sit for up to 8 hours/day.
